Miki obtained her BSc in Molecular Biomedicine from the University of Bonn in 2017. Continuing she carried out her Master studies in Immunobiology and gained valuable insights into immunological research in different laboratories at the University of Bonn including Irmgard Förster, Eicke Latz and Florian Schmidt. She also performed an external lab visit in the lab of Ellen Foxman at Yale School of Medicine. Afterwards she re-joined the laboratory of Florian Schmidt for her Master’s Thesis where she studied inflammasome activation by Influenza A viruses. Currently, she is continuing the project together with Maria Christensen as a research assistant and is an important member of the III news and event management team.
Her hobbies include late night cooking sessions (which have to start after 10 pm), gin tastings and designing birthday cards.
