Bio Summary

Felix received his Bachelors in Neuroscience in 2015 from King’s College London, during which he worked as a research assistant in the lab of Molecular Neuroscience under Prof. Nathaniel Heintz at The Rockefeller University. Following his undergraduate studies Felix joined the lab of Prof. Matthias Merkenschlager at Imperial College London for his PhD. Felix’s PhD work focused on the role of the cohesin protein complex in 3D chromatin organisation and gene regulation, and the effects of cohesin mutations on human disease. After his PhD, Felix decided to pursue his interests in innate immunology, and in 2021 joined the Institute of Innate Immunity as a postdoc with Prof. Felix Meissner. In the Meissner lab he is developing proteomic tools to study cell-cell communication in vivo, as well as collaborating with Prof. Eicke Latz on macrophage polarisation through innate immune receptor signalling.
